What's tunnel vision?

How do you get out of it?
What%26#039;s tunnel vision?
I%26#039;m not sure why you put this in philosophy. Tunnel vision is a disability that restricts one%26#039;s vision, kind of like looking through periscope. You can not see peripherally. You can only see what is in front of you.

If someone has tunnel vision in the philosophical sense, it means your world view is limited. You can not see all points of view or the big picture. You are limited to what you know or see right in front of you. You are limitted in regards to information.

You can reduce tunnel vision by opening your mind to others points of view, to new ideas, to new ways of doing things other than that you know. In other words shoot for looking at all the angles in the big picture.

Hope that helps.
What%26#039;s tunnel vision?
I%26#039;m interpretign this as you mean the question figuritively. Figuritive tunnel vision as you can%26#039;t seem to look at the thign and front of you and see all the possiblilities . As if you onyl just see one.

Open your mind to new things. I know that sounds veryy bohemian but its really not. Im not intending for you to use drugs becasue I don%26#039;t use them myslef but reading and wirting often help me do this. If not just take a step back and look at the world around you. Thing abotu it. There are millions of galaxies out there. Does it stop? Does it ever end? What is the purpose of this? is there really anythign larger? Hopefully this helps.
Reply:There%26#039;s actual tunnel vision, and the metaphorical kind.

Certain drug interactions can produce a big black circle around everything you see. The middle is visible but the hole keeps getting smaller and smaller. Presumably when the hole completely closes you black out.

As a metaphor, it means you have a very narrow mind, i.e. that you are a pinhead.
Reply:Tunnel vision is a loss of peripheral vision.

%26quot;How do you get out of it?%26quot;

That%26#039;s funny, that was hard not to laugh. Considering I am at work. Me laughing would break the silent and get everybody looking at me.

Edit

I got a thumbs down.

You were serious, tunnel vision could be caused by anything. Such as stare a something for a long period of time could cause tunnel vision, about to black out could cause the tunnel vision as well, or simply going blind.

If you are staring at something for a long period of time. Just move your eyes, if blacking out, stop drinking. If goin blind there is nothing you can do about it.

As far as what other people are talking about as far as thinking is concerned I never heard of that type of tunnel vision.

Sorry, I thought you were trying to make a joke.
Reply:it is what you get when you think to much and dont know how,., it is where people can only see a single dot infromt of them clearly, and everything the see they need to look directly at with the center of their eye~`~`~
Reply:in tunnel vision,i hope , your vision is limited to the central part and not on the circumference.
Reply:There are two kinds. One physical, one mental.

Physical condition is the lack of peripheral vision. If you stare straight ahead at a fixed point, without moving your eyes or head, what can you detect on the outside edges of your vision? If nothing much, then you many suffer from tunnel vision and should seek medical help.

The other Tunnel vision is the stubborn, (often doggedly) determined focus of an individual who only sees what he or she wants to see. They close off ideas and thoughts and possibilities that they do not agree with, often closing their minds to new answers and possibilities for learning new things, including things that may have actually proved helpful to them. They can also %26#039;shut out%26#039; the real world, preferring to recognize only what they want to acknowledge and %26#039;see%26#039;.
Reply:Putting blinders on and not looking at alternatives or other data which is obvious for the most part.
